# Editing or closing a job

> Change a live job, what applicants are told, and how to close or extend it.

## Editing a job

Choose **Edit job** from a job's **Manage** menu on your **Jobs** page. You can edit drafts, jobs waiting for review and live jobs, at no cost.

When you change a live job:

- the job shows the date it was updated
- applicants and people who saved it get an email listing what changed, at most once a day per job
- the new details go through the same checks as publishing. A change that breaks the rules, such as a salary outside our limits, is refused. A change that trips one of our scam checks takes the job down until a person reviews it

## Extending a job

Jobs stay live for 30 days.

While posting is free, you can extend a live job by another 30 days for free from its **Manage** menu once it has a week or less left.

## Closing a job

Choose **Close job** from the **Manage** menu when the role is filled. The job comes down straight away and its page tells visitors it has closed, with similar open jobs. Applicants keep their application history.
