Reporting a scam or misleading listing
What to do if a job asks for money, personal financial details or looks fake.
Updated
Real employers never ask applicants for money. Be careful with any job that:
- asks you to pay a fee for training, equipment or "processing"
- asks for your bank details, social security or social insurance number, or ID numbers before an offer
- pays in crypto or gift cards, or asks you to deposit a check
- moves the conversation to a chat app straight away
How to report a listing
At the bottom of the job page, choose Report this listing as a scam or misleading, pick what's wrong and add details. You need an account with a verified email that is at least a day old, so a few throwaway accounts can't take real jobs down.
When several people report the same job, it's hidden while a person looks at it. We also check every new job for these warning signs before it goes live.
If you've already sent money or personal details, contact your bank and local police, and write to [email protected].
Still stuck? Write to [email protected] and a person will reply.
