Reporting AI in hiring
What counts as AI screening, when you can report it, and what happens to the employer.
Updated
Employers on HumanFirstJobs promise that a person, not AI, reviews every application and runs every interview. If an employer breaks that promise, tell us.
What counts as AI in hiring
- AI that screened, ranked or scored your resume
- A chatbot or voice bot that screened you
- An interview run or scored by AI, including recorded video interviews
- An assessment graded or proctored by AI
- AI writing to you while pretending to be a person
Employers may use AI to write their own job descriptions. That isn't against the rules.
How to report
Open Applications, find the job and choose Report AI use. You can report 24 hours after you applied, once per employer. Tell us what happened and when, and add screenshots or emails if you have them.
What happens next
- The employer is never told who reported them.
- Reports from people who applied on HumanFirstJobs count straight away. Reports from people who only clicked through to the employer's own site are checked by a person first.
- Every counted report warns the employer. Two counted reports mean their new jobs wait for review. 3 within 90 days suspend the employer and take their jobs down.
